Updates

Well I have missed a week of updating on Little One...but it has been a hard couple of weeks and blogging was in the back of my mind! :) So here are some updates.....

The biggest/most exciting news is that I can feel Little One moving!!! Yay! It is such an amazing feeling. I first really felt the baby moving last week (so I was 17 weeks). Michael of course can't feel it yet, but hopefully he will soon! Little One is trying to let Michael feel it.... every time I put Michael's hand on my belly, when baby is moving, Little One starts moving right where his hand is. But it is still just too faint.

For the past week or so, I have been having some pretty severe pain over my ribs. Which is NO fun! The other night it was really bad, so we called the doctors office and talked to the on-call doctor. She thought it was muscular. She said that when your diaphragm is expanding, it can actually start to tear the muscle off of your ribs.....yuck. So she advised that I call my regular doctor the next day and get an appointment. So I called the office and ended up finally talking to my doctor's nurse, but by that time it was too late to get an appointment for that day, so we scheduled an appointment for the next day. We went in and it was a tough appointment....let me start by saying that Little One is perfectly healthy! The thing that was tough about this appointment was getting the doctor to understand where I was hurting. In the end she decided that it must have something to do with acid re-flux.....which does not make any sense to me. So I left feeling misunderstood and very upset because I was in so much pain. But after talking to my mom, who calmed me down, I plan on calling the doctor on Monday to really get this straightened out. So here I sit with a heating pad on my poor ribs...
And on top of all that.......this last week Michael got 2 of his wisdom teeth taken out. The Army decided that they would pay for it, but it had to get it done right away. So he received about a day's notice. So I went with him to the dentist, because we figured that they were going to knock him out. Turns out the Army only paid for local anesthetic, which we now know is NOT the way to go! It took them 6 vials of anesthetic to get him numbed initially, but he was burning it off so fast that they had to keep giving him more. So in the end it took 2 dentists 3 hours to get his bottom teeth out! I felt so bad for him......I was watching the whole time (which was not a good idea) and I could just see that he was going through so much pain. But we did learn a lesson from this experience. I was going to have 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled by local anesthetic, because I am pregnant, and we now know that it is not going to happen! There is no way that I could handle it!

Now it's time for both of us to hobble off to bed to try and get sleep. Here's to a better week next week! Love and miss you all!
