Testing out baby gear

Michael and I were checking out our baby gear.....

Oddly enough, Benson actually didn't hate being a test subject

35 Weeks

Emmalynn this week......

Size:
At more than five pounds and between sixteen and twenty inches, baby is becoming more ready for birth with every passing hour. She's the size of a small roasting chicken.

Development:
Her nervous system and immune system are still maturing, and she's adding the fat that she'll need to regulate her body temperature. But everything else, from her toenails to the hair on her head, is fully formed. If she were born now, she'd have more than a ninety-nine percent chance of surviving.

Well it is good news that if my little girl decided to come early that she has a 99% chance of making it, because no one seems to think that I am going to make it to full term (40 weeks).
My doctor wants to induce me at 39 weeks (January 17th) if I haven't gone into labor before then, which she thinks I will. I just want my little girl to be healthy and it worries me that if she comes early that she will not be fully developed. Don't get me wrong, I want to have her here with me. Not only because I want to meet her, but I would get some relief from this "not so pleasant" pregnancy. But oh well....it will all be worth it soon! I just pray that she gets here safe and really close to January 24th! :)

33 Week Appointment/Ultrasound

Thursday the 8th we had an Ultrasound to see our beautiful little girl and to make sure her size is on track. According to all of the measurements the ultrasound tech took, she is right on track!
Right now Emma weighs 4 pounds 15 ounces! Which shocked both Michael and I. We don't know what we were expecting, but that was not it. We did not get to see much of her because she is so squished up in there! But here are the pictures we did get.....

 Emma's spine

Her face.....I wish the face shots were cuter.....in this picture she still looks like a little alien. :)

 Her arm

 Emma's feet!

Also at this appointment I had to do a Non-Stress Test, which I will have to do at every appointment from now on. Dr. Fealko wants to make sure that with me having gestational diabetes, that Emma is not being affected.

So excited for Christmas! It is my favorite holiday! It is kind of a bummer that our little girl will just miss Christmas, but then next year will be super fun because she will be old enough to kind of understand what is going on!

MERRY CHRISTMAS DECORATING!

32 Weeks

I am 32 weeks along this week.....wow time is flying.....only 8 weeks left!

This last week has been pretty busy, especially the 1st......

December 1st was our 4 year Wedding Anniversary!

The day started out with me having to work until 1:00 pm, because we had our work Christmas Party from 1-4. It was so fun! I love the ladies I work with!
The wonderful ladies at IdahoAEYC!
And another with me in it.
(Not that I am too thrilled about me being in it...I look huge!)

Our Anniversary date started with dinner at IHOP (because I was craving breakfast!) Then we had the first class out of 4 for the Childbirth Preparation at St. Lukes. That was an odd thing to do for an anniversary, but it was the only time that we could make it work. Then we decided that we wanted to go to the movies after the class. Luckily, we had free movie passes, so we went to see Breaking Dawn! Which was a really good movie! So over all, it was a really good anniversary!
Also this week, Michael started his new job. It has been interesting and hard to get used to. He unfortunately got stuck with the night shift. So when I am getting off from work at 5ish he is sleeping to get up at midnight to go to work. So we don't really get to spend much time together. But we will make it work. We always seem to.

So my goal for the next couple of weeks is to start making room for baby stuff. Yes I know it seems kind of late to be starting this, but we didn't think we would be living in this apartment when the baby came. But it seems that this is where we will be, so I better start making room for her!

I am really looking forward to our Doctor appointment next week, because that is when our next ultrasound is scheduled! And don't worry, I will post pictures!

Well it is late and Michael just left for work, so it is time for me to go to bed!

Updates since my last post....

At 27 weeks I had to do the Glucose Tolerance Test. Which unfortunately I failed. My numbers were too high which means I had to take a 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test. Which I also failed. Meaning...lucky me, I have gestational diabetes. Yes yes I know, it is not the end of the world, but it would be nice to have something go right. So I had an appointment/class with the Humphrey's Diabetes Center here in Boise. It was a good class, and I learned a lot. I was given a meter and have to test my blood 4 times a day. It has taken a lot of getting used to, but I am starting to get the hang of it. But it is very important that I try my hardest to keep my blood sugar levels in the right range, because I don't want to have a 10 pound baby! But there is a silver lining to this whole gestational diabetes thing....I get to have more ultrasounds to check her size! I can't wait to see my little girl again!

For Thanksgiving we went down to Burley to visit family. Michael's sister Anna was there from North Carolina with her little family. So we finally got to meet our new little niece Addison!

Michael and Anna with Addy

While we were spending time with Michael's family we started going through baby clothes/blankets and family pictures. It was fun and now we have several baby blankets for our little girl.
Michael and I now have a new project too.....we took the family pictures and we are going to scan all of them to put on CD's for the family. Big project.....oh well, it has been fun going through all of the pictures. Especially Michael's baby pictures, he was a very cute kid!

Michael has an employment update too....
He got a new job and no longer works at Petsmart! Yay! It is a full time job that pays a lot better. So that relieves some of our stress. This new job is driving truck, but luckily this time it is local, so he gets to come home after each shift. It is not his dream job, but it will work for now! :)
