Names ???

Ok, Michael and I have a few names picked out, so we wanted to share them with you.....

Emmalynn Jean Rose (we would call her Emma)
-or-
Kathryn Elise Rose (we would call her Katy)

We are leaning more towards Emmalynn. What do you think?

Our little girl......

Our Little One is getting so big and active.....it is exciting! There are moments where I am just so excited for her to get here....and then a second later realize that that would mean I have a baby to take care of!
It is amazing to me how much I already love her! I love that when I talk to her, or sing a long to the radio, she responds by giving me light tapes. And how when her daddy pokes or pushes my belly, she is quick to give him a smack. :) Makes me so happy.
She has been camped out in the same spot for a couple weeks now, which is on the left side of my body. It is funny how it is making my belly look off-kilter. My belly button, or what is left of it :), is not in the center of my stomach anymore. For some reason she loves that side and rarely leaves it. Every once in awhile, she will stretch out the length of my belly, and I will get kicked on both sides. She has also, in the last couple weeks, started rolling over......odd feeling! I'm not looking forward to that in a month or so when she is a lot bigger!
She has also started responding to loud noises. We were at a friends house the other night watching Tron, with surround sound of course. Every time the music would blare or a something loud would happen, she was jumping and squirming all over the place.

It is so crazy how time is flying! Tomorrow I will be 27 Weeks along......wow only 13 weeks to go!

26 Weeks

Size:
Little One weighs about 1 1/3 pounds and has undergone a growth spurt in the past few weeks. From weeks twenty to twenty-eight, she almost doubles in height and now would be about a foot tall if she could stand.

Development:
This week marks a major milestone in your baby's hearing and sight.
Your baby's hearing system (cochlea and peripheral sensory end organs), which began fine development during week 18, is now completely formed, and over the next few weeks, she'll become increasingly sensitive to sound. In about a month, you'll feel her jump if she hears a sudden loud noise. Sound passes easily into your uterus, which helps her ears to develop.
Her eyes are almost fully formed. Did you know that all babies have blue eyes in the womb, no matter what their genetic inheritance is? A baby's eyes don't get their final color until a few months after they are born.

25 Weeks

This week......

Size:
Little One weighs 1 1/4 pounds and is a little more than 11 inches long, about the size of a small bag of sugar. In the last third of pregnancy, she'll double and triple her weight.

Development:
Your dexterous baby can touch and hold her feet and make a fist.
You may be able to hear your baby's heartbeat with a simple stethoscope. Your partner may be able to hear it by pressing his ear against your belly.
Your baby has a regular sleep schedule now and active and inactive periods. You may or may not be able to discern when these periods are.
Her nostrils, which have been plugged, open up.

Lots of exciting things going on with our little girl this week!

I Loved You From The Very Start

I loved you from the very start…

You stole my breath, embraced my heart.

Our life together has just begun,
You’re part of me, my little one.

As mother with child, each day I knew
My mind would be filled with thoughts of you.
I’m daydreaming of the things we’ll share,
Like late-night bottles and teddy bears.
Like first steps and skinned knees,
Like bedtime stories and ABC’s.

I’m thinking of things you’ll want to know,
Like how birds fly and flowers grow.
I've thought of lessons I’ll need to share,
Like standing tall and playing fair.

When I first see your precious face,
I’ll pray your life be touched with grace.
I’ll thank the angels from above,
And promise you unending love.

Each night I’ll lay you down to sleep,
I’ll gently kiss your head and cheek.
I’ll count your little fingers and toes,
I’ll memorize your eyes and nose.

I will linger at your nursery door,
Awed each day that I love you more.
Through misty eyes, I’ll dim the light,
And whisper, “I love you” every night.

As mother with child our journey’s begun,
My heart’s yours forever, little one.

I loved you from the very start…

You stole my breath, embraced my heart.

24 Week Doctor Appointment

Today we had our 24 week/6 month appointment. It's always so great to go to the doctor and check on my little girl. I love listening to her heartbeat!
The doctor has now started measuring my stomach......but I forgot to ask her what the measurement was (not that I would share it with you anyway!) The doctor also informed me that our little girl now weighs about 2 pounds, which explains why I am starting to feel like an over-stuffed turkey! I have no idea where in the world those other 5 to 6 pounds are going to go!!!
The only bad part about this appointment, was the flu shot! Yuck! So I guess bring on feeling crappy....right?
For the next doctor appointment I have to do the glucose test. I hope I pass! After that appointment,  I will start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. It is so crazy how fast this is going!

Oh and this morning before we went to the doctor, I was laying down and Little One was kicking, or so I thought, so I had Michael come over and feel. But he pointed out that the movement was different and seemed to be more consistent.......hiccups! It was very cute, because then I realized it was her whole body moving and not just a fist or foot! Oh how I love this little girl already! :)

Baby Shower!

I have a co-worker who is also pregnant, and we had her "work" baby shower today! So exciting! She is due in November. It has been so awesome to have her right there all the time, because she is me 2 months in the future. :) Or something like that. Which has been nice to bounce ideas off of her and see what she is going through and when.
Her baby shower was great. Nice and simple with really good cake! We both love how supportive and excited all the ladies at work are. I don't think I could work a full-time job, while being pregnant, if it weren't for them! I am so blessed!
